Colosseum | echoes of eternity

Last days I reflected about an interesting thing:

I'm roman but I never shot an image of the Colosseum !

The Colosseum is one of the most important and known monuments in the world: Colosseum is Rome, and Rome is Colosseum.

Also known as the The "Flavian Amphitheater", it is the largest amphitheater ever built and is considered one of the greatest works of architecture and engineering.

On the other hand, this place is, practically, a huge graveyard, because it was the theater of tons of clash in which thousands and thousands of men lost their life.

Regarding this, I want to realize something different from the images circulating in the web; the majority of them are totally concerned about the external view - wonderful no doubt- but for this capture my idea is recreating the impressive impact and feeling that Colosseum had 2000 years ago .

I wanted a shoot from the inside, at golden hour, when tourists leave the structure and there is a perfect light for an evocative shot.

At the end, I'm very satisfied for the final result and it is a pleasure for me to share this work with flickr community.
