The Fading Shimmer of a Broken Dawn
First Light on the banks of the River Torrens (or Torrens River) looking over to Adelaide's riverbank precinct, with the Intercontinental Hotel (the tallest building) and the Adelaide Convention Centre to the right.
The glassy, mirrorlike surface of the water had yet to be fractured by rowers and the clouds were an interesting subject to frame on this Autumn morning. Standing on a platform also made for some interesting foreground patterns.
As the sun rose higher the water lost its incandescent blue reflections to reveal the usual mottled green-brown riverbed hues of the Torrens.
