Spring Deferral

The sun momentarily breaks through dense falling snow on a cold (-17 °C) day in the valley of the Jacques Cartier River, Quebec.

The average annual snowfall in this region is more than 400-500 cm, but this year snowfall has far exceeded the average.

Photo is a snap shot taken on a back-country ski trip.

Skiing into this location was an arduous task as it was necessary to break trail through more than 18 inches of fresh snow.
