Connect 4

Macro Mondays and the theme "Fill the frame".

 

For this theme I first had the idea of photographing the pattern in a flower pot but I was not happy with the results.

 

Then I decided to use this Connect 4 game as my subject as it would showcase three different colours.

 

First I set up some of the game pieces and then I focussed the camera at exactly three inches.

 

Having the game square to the plane of focus meant that not too many of the game pieces were visible so then I set the board at an angle which would get a bit more into the field of view.
