On the Fifth Day of Christmas

I saw this impressive Neapolitan presepio in a chapel of the magnificent church of Sant’Ignazio in Rome.

 

I took the photo back in the spring of 2018 and decided it would make a nice Christmas eve upload that year. But I forgot. Then made a note in my Google calendar for 2019 but never looked. Well it showed up again today and this is probably the closest I ever get. Happy Holidays!

 

Towards the top of of the busy village scene you can a dancing Christ child in the Virgin Mother's arms, an empty manger between Joseph and Mary, There is a shepherd and three wise men, a very pleasing Nativity.
