Wave Hill Wild Garden

The Cutleaf Staghorn Sumac {Rhus typhina ‘Laciniata’) and some of the ground cover adds a little red to this garden year round. Dried grasses and leftovers from the previous growing season help warm up this snow dusted scene. Then the evergreen background makes for a great winter view but the real treat from here is turning around to watch the garden grounds roll down into the Hudson River. Meanwhile the first snowdrops (Galanthus elwesii) along this path will be arriving very soon.
