Reefnet Fishing for Salmon
Reefnetting in the fall means interesting weather. The fishermen are out to catch hatchery silvers and king salmon. How do we tell a hatchery fish from a wild salmon you may ask? Well the small fin near the tail, called the adipose fin, is clipped at the hatchery. Reefnetting allows the fishermen to return the wild fish unharmed to continue it's journey up river.
