A year ago next week I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was caught early; I am so fortunate. That said, it forced me onto a different path. I'd been training for the Houston Marathon at the time and was forced to drop out so I could undergo treatment.
Today my run wasn't my best or my fastest, but it was a solid effort and 19 miles. Between this run and a half marathon I raced last week, I am seeing that my body i going to be ready to run a marathon in January, hopefully a Boston qualifier, and the gratefulness overwhelms me. Hard to get a big camera photo of my watch, but today I wanted to remember.
