Brooding On a Stone Circle

This was not at all the image I had in mind when I set out this morning, but it's early July, a very dry time for an area that's usually much more wet, with faster moving rivers and all.

 

I still want to shoot the cliche I had in my head, but this and several other images were what I found instead. I've been trying to find a location for a very long shutter shot of either tide or turbulent rapids for a few months, but not enough planning to do something like a trip dedicated to the project itself.

This and most other shots today were shot from a public access fishing pier that extends into the Walkill River, near New Paltz.
