Short-eared Owl protects its meal
I'll readily admit that this image is a re-post from about 6 years ago. Why? It's simply one of my favorite images. The problem with posting too many images (as I'm guilty of) is the fact that the first image posted gets the attention, the second - ho hum, the third ignored.
So, here's a favorite of mine. This is a road-rabbit that ended out in a farmers field. The Short-eared Owls competed for a turn to inspect the carcass. Next image shows this guy doing a face plant.
