SFX (doppeldeutig mit SFX - sound effects), werden mechanische Techniken bezeichnet, um bestimmte Effekte in Theater oder Film zu erzeugen.

Im Gegensatz zu den Visual Effects (VFX) werden Spezialeffekte direkt am Drehort erzeugt und gefilmt. Damit ist das gewünschte Ergebnis sofort überprüfbar.
