Double Arch - Star Trails and Lightpainting
This was taken in Arches National Park in Utah.
Many thanks to Mac Danzig for providing instruction and inspiration, both of which helped to obtain this shot. His star trails are really great.
This was roughly a 30min single exposure shot at 400 ISO. In retrospect, I wish I would have used 200 ISO, as the 400 speed was a bit noisier than I expected. At least the temperature was down in the 30's, which along with the long exposure noise reduction did a good job of keeping the image sensor noise to a minimum.
The light painting was done with an LED spotlight with a CTO gel.
I welcome any input or criques on this shot, especially from those that have experience in shooting star trails. ....I actually love to get feedback good or bad (contructive hopefully) on any of my photos.
