Phelsuma laticauda & Nepenthes maxima
A Gold Dust Day gecko (Phelsuma laticauda) flirting with death. Probably attracted to insects or to the sweet secretion around the inner lip of the pitcher plant. www.flickr.com/photos/dweickhoff/14306640953/in/photostream/
Pitcher plants are pitfall carnivorous plants from southern Asia to Australasia.
Noticed this gecko checking out my pitcher plant (Nepenthes maxima). He would make a nice meal if he falls in and cannot get out. However, he escapes unharmed.
See what happened to other poor victims from this same plant.
