This song was playing on the radio while I was reading a few chapters from Dostoevsky's "Brothers Karamazov," an insanely broad sweeping novel that challenges virtually every aspect of life in the late 1800's and more particularly of today. Humanity and how it shapes and forms society with its loves and hates is filled with suffering.

Dostoevsky show's all of his many characters in this book, dealing with their suffering and that of those they love. He says through the Elder, “Love in action is a harsh and dreadful thing compared with love in dreams. Love in dreams is greedy for immediate action, rapidly performed and in the sight of all. Men will even give their lives if only the ordeal does not last long but is soon over, with all looking on and applauding as though on the stage. But active love is labor and fortitude, and for some people too, perhaps, a complete science.”
