A Keychain Is Born 1

This is the carving process for my standard name keychains, from start to finish.

I follow up by sanding on a belt sander (see: A Keychain is Born 2 at www.flickr.com/photos/dustynewt/4939629338/).

Off camera, I then hand sanding to 400 grit. The hardware and three coats of clear lacquer are then applied. The item is them shipped to a new happy home out there somewhere.

The wood for the keychain in the video is Paduak, a deep red hardwood from southern Africa.

Peace in Wood,

Scott
