Chuya Ikeda - Lost in Translation
There are some nice close-ups of this piece on the show's website: www.macd2007.com/author.asp?ID_Cont=83. I didn't photograph a blurb so from memory here's what's happening. Chuya took a poem (by Rimbaud, I think), and ran it through Google's translator into a number of different languages. Then for each translation he ran each word through Google's localized image search page. The resulting images were printed out as tiny thumbnails and plotted radially on pins. (I couldn't work out what the axies were).
