Pringle walk #Prestwich

Pringle Walk is named after the local historian Ian Pringle (1950-2018). Ian's knowledge and passion about the history of Prestwich, St. Mary's Church, Heaton Park and Philips Park, Whitefield, and his books were the result of a lifelong study. Ian's efforts laid a legacy for Prestwich Clough, the flower park and the St. Mary's and Poppythorn conservation areas, for which residents will always be indebted.

Ian took photographs of Prestwich throughout his life and these captured permanently a landscape that has now disappeared. His archive of local history material is held at Chetham's Library, Manchester. This walk, next to the church he so admired and a landscape he loved, is named as a fitting memorial to him. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prestwich
