Is that private property or independent property?

The language we use has a big impact on how we think:

 

Private schools have private property

 

Independent schools have independent property

 

Can we stop calling private schools "independent"?

 

We don't call private healthcare "independent healthcare" and private companies are not referred to as "independent companies"

 

independent schools have little in common with "independent retailers", "independent record labels", "independent politicians" or nations fighting for their independence.

 

So, why can't we just call them private schools instead?
