Jump!

Went to Discovery Park in Seattle yesterday (8/2) with my friends. This was supposed to be a drive up to the lighthouse, click pictures and drive back home kinda trip. But when we got there, we found out that we couldn't drive up to the beach without a permit and so we parked at the visitor center and hiked 2 miles to the lighthouse. The hike was strenuous (just for me, the others didn't find it so hard) and on the way we decided to stop and get some jumping pictures.

In this one, I have an SB-800 remotely triggered using the built-in flash on the D80 in Commander mode (this flash was set to not fire), to the camera left. The flash did not fire (may be since there were line of sight issues, or maybe since the battery on the flash was dying). I should look into getting a couple of pocket wizards for the next time.

I also left the circular polarizer on the lens which is what caused the lens flare. (lesson learnt)

(In retrospect, I might have gotten better results if I had an umbrella. Maybe next time!)
