Those !@#$ing Shaft Seals!
The Phantom ROV series uses a 'shaft seal' to keep water from entering the hull at depth, and it employs a series of o-rings, and oil-filled bushings. The O-rings need to be changed regularly, and it's quite a task. The UBC Open Water Research Station at our marina allowed me to use their workspace (Thanks guys!) to do the task out of the weather.
