I have been photographing railroad tracks for a while now. I recently tried to come to a better understanding of my interest in the tracks. When I look at this photo the fascination becomes clearer to me. The solid metal of the rail conveys a strength that can sustain a great weight, the long history of railroad travel and the movement of freight represents progress, and the rails stretching out to infinity signifies hope for the future. To my friends who also enjoy the railroad....how does it speak to you?
