While Porsche relentlessly developed the seminal 356 following its 1948 introduction, plans for a new model began as early as 1956. First introduced at Frankfurt in 1963, the 911 created a stir of excitement and heated debate among Porsche enthusiasts worldwide. Series-production began in late 1964, and the new model quickly silenced Porsche’s critics with its flat-six engine, five-speed gearbox and refined suspension.

The 911 Targa, named in honor of Porsche’s success in the grueling Targa Florio endurance race, featured a reinforced integral roll-bar providing the rigidity and rollover protection that a full cabriolet would have obviously lacked. The 911S Targa embodies the best elements of versatile all-weather motoring and legendary sports-car performance.

Highly desired among Porsche enthusiasts, this bold Viper Green 911S Targa is an absolute thrill! The car has recently received a great deal of attention with is comprehensive ground-up restoration, reviving 911 into the strong and handsome driver. The 911S comes complete with the once removed factory original A/C equipment and front seats as well as Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. While not restored to show condition, the 911 ought to be an ideal companion for pleasant drives, the occasional Porsche gathering, rallies, slalom courses, and especially long-distance tours.
