The Mercedes-Benz 230-280 SL series continued the tradition of the sporty open convertible of this famous German manufacturer. It was the successor to both the 190 SL and the legendary 300 SL Gullwing. Its styling was considered boxy and its "pagoda"-styled optional hardtop was criticized. Today, its popularity as a classic is increasing. It is nimble and practical while the styling is delicate and well-balanced. The 280 SL was offered through 1971.

Offered here is an extremely honest and meticulously cared for example. A comprehensive restoration was performed on the car over the last 14 years with aim of producing an outstanding driver in well presented quality cosmetic condition. The work addressed all areas of the vehicle including completely rebuilding the original motor and all mechanicals as well as a refreshing of the cabins upholstery and trim.
