LONG-SERVING LIFEBOAT COXSWAIN GIVES UP INSHORE HELMSMAN ROLE

D Class Lifeboat Crews have to Retire from duty 5 years earlier than the main Lifeboats' Crew, this is because this Class of Lifeboat (here in Llandudno Dr. Barbara Saunderson)

HAS NO SEATS, the Crew have to KNEEL IN THE BOAT,

picture yourself over the years, IN ROUGH SEAS, having forces acting on your knees-the reason why forced retirement !

Graham Heritage, pictured, Llandudno Lifeboat Station's volunteer Coxswain, was recognised for 30 years service to the RNLI last year 2018 and will continue to perform his key role as Coxswain of the station's all weather lifeboat,

William F. Yates, continuing a FAMILY TRADITION, Graham's Father, Dennis, was a crew member for many years and Graham's middle son, Luke, is now both a helmsman of the inshore lifeboat and an ASSISTANT MECHANIC of the all weather lifeboat.
