Shear plate
With the demolition of the SuperValu grocery store in Penticton, scores of these shear plates were exposed. They were used with lag bolts to join the arched laminated beams that formed the unique curved roof. They are 4" (10 cm) in diameter. This one was photographed on display as part of the exhibit SuperValu Redux.
