Ruthven Barracks

The two barrack blocks face each other across an open parade-ground, where the redcoats drilled. Each block was designed to house up to 60 soldiers... Each room lodged up to ten soldiers sleeping two to a bed. They were expected to cook their own rations and do all their own cleaning and laundry. The basement and attic in each barracks were used for storage of military equipment and food.
