The Power of Sharpness 3I1281

Never underestimate the power of sharpness. A few things drive the eye to portions of an image. Light and color can easily do so, but in an image that is relatively monochromatic, sharpness is key. When you first see this image the majority of viewers will first notice the horns. Perhaps, within milliseconds, you might take notice the long eyelash silhouettes or the peaked tail. It is only after time that you will see some of the other details in the image, like the coarse fur or blades of grass gone to seed along the rocky bluff. Sharpness is a strong determinant of attention in a photo. This is why the depth of a field of focus can be a powerful tool when creating a photo.
