Antlers for Two 3I2246

Caribou, or reindeer as some of you may know them, are the only species of deer in which males and females can both have antlers. The antlers of females tend to be smaller although they carry them longer than males. In most caribou the antlers are shed annually, re-growing in the spring and summer. Photographing these majestic creatures from the bank of a frozen lake, we were able to remain partially hidden, with only our heads above the bank. Had we stood up the caribou would have started to dash away, but seeing only our heads and lenses left them curios. They were curious enough to even approach. #Caribou
