Beauty in the Tree 4085

Black bear cubs are not the only ones who take advantage of trees. Mom climbs almost as frequently as they do. Despite her size, she can sprint up a tree within seconds, so attempting to seek a safe haven in the branches of a nearby tree isn’t recommended. If mom is concerned about your proximity, she will let you know with some notable jaw snapping and huffing. Calmly backing away is the best way to safety, for you and her cubs. This beautiful young female climbs a tree with her cub as a male bear approaches. She is much less concerned about me. #BlackBears
