Baijnath temple landscape,Uttarakhand

Baijnath is a small town on the banks of the Gomti River in the Bageshwar district of Uttarakhand, India.It is famous for Baijnath mandir( seen here) which is actually a temple comlex built by Katyuri dynasty around 12th century on the banks of Gomti river.The stone temple dedicated to Lord Vaidyanath, the Lord of Physicians houses idols of Shiva, Ganesh, Parvati, Chandika, Kuber, Surya and Brahma.The main temple that houses a beautiful idol of Parvati is chiseled in black stone.Distant mountains are Nandaghunti,Trishul, Mrigthuni ,Maiktoli and others from left to right.The height of the town is 3700ft and is named after the temple.
