„Kantine. Zum lustigen Luftschiffer. F.L.A. 27.“ / Quesnoy-sur-Deûle
Note on reverse; „No. 8 Kantine B.Z. 72.“
1917 thereabouts, and Henri Despinoy's digs in Quesnoy-sur-Deûle in Northern France, now serves as a canteen for the "merry fellows" of Feldluftschiffer Abteilung 27, although the chaps mooching about out the front do not appear that merry. Also, I have it on good authority the vehicle is of French manufacture, perhaps it was also once the property of Monsieur Despinoy?
Each Armeekorps had one FLA assigned to it and within that formation were 2 to 5 Ballonzüge.
