Damaged on the 6 March 1944 mission to bomb the ball-bearing plant at Erkner, in the outskirts of Berlin. Walsh crew
This aircraft was repaired and went back into service. On take-off for the 30 December 1944 mission it suffered an engine failure. The pilot decided to try an emergency landing at RAF East Kirby. He overshot the runway, and in the attempt to go around for another try, the plane stalled and crashed, killing all 9 crewmembers. 2nd Lt. Joseph Stratton crew.
