WWII Educational Program by Douglas Culver, WWII Consultant

People ask me how and why I do this. The answer is simple; it has been my passion for over 40 years. As a high school student I was doing poorly in history class, until one day a man came to class with a couple of tables full of WW2 artifacts. Uniforms, helmets, belts, patches, packs; things that I could touch. At that moment history became alive in my mind. I began the study and collection of everything associated with that time period. My knowlege and the artifacts grew to the point that I began putting on displays at high schools, colleges, and for veteran organizations. Consulting for stage plays and museum exhibits relating to WWII has also been an enjoyment.

The exhibit and lecture is not based on the glory of war, but rather to illustrate the horror, death and destruction of it all. To make an attempt at how it happened, and what our service personel endured throughout that time. To never forget those who gave all and why they fought. I try my best to give students questions that they will, in time, answer as adults, with the hope that future generations will live in peace and genocide will cease.

I have now retired from my 34 years in the criminal justice system and devote my time to my passion of educating people, using artifacts, about the greatest time in world history.
