impression: impressed
Paris, 1999
I've always been fond of this composition: the expressions and body language of each individual are so evocative of museum-goers. The man crossing from left has that "I've seen these before, where's the next room?" sort of gait; the woman turning has the "let me look appropriately impressed by the, uh, Impressionism," the other woman is wearing a totally cool hat, and the monsieur with his arms behind his back probably just wants his wife to hurry looking and accompany him to the cafe.
Oh, and all these people are admiring versions of Monet's Cathedral of Rouen series. Brilliant paintings, all.
