Cosmic Selfie

After spending a couple of days in the White Forest, my nephew and I made our way over to the Alabama Hills for a shot over Mobius Arch.

When we arrived there were 11 other photographers all hanging about waiting for the alignment of the Milky Way with flashlight in hand. In my normal fashion, I started inquiring (pestering) the guy that was there first, this is the individual I would need to get on board with the Low Level Lighting setup. I struck up a conversation with him and ask if I could quickly show him the effect and if he didn't like it I would pack up and walk away. He seemed interested not only in the technique but at my confidence that he would agree with the setup. Worked like a charm, by the time I left every single person on site wanted to know more about LLL, so I stuck around and shared what I could with my new friends. I love sharing the LLL technique with others and the beauty is it helps all photogs on scene achieve what they wanted with little or no compromise. :-)

For more information about the LLL technique(LowLevelLighting) you can visit lowlevellighting.org

If you do visit LLL.org check out the panorama at the top, Wayne Pinkston took that shot of me at the Racetrack Playa in Death Valley. Thanks Wayne!!
