Aerial view on the Radcliffe Camera, Brasenose College and All Souls College

View on the Radcliffe Camera, Brasenose College and All Souls College from The University Church tower of St Mary the Virgin ( St Mary's or SMV for short ).

I wanted to take some aerial photos of the historic city centre of Oxford and climbed St Mary's tower and had to overcome my fear of heights. Oh dear- the things we do for love ;-)

St Mary's is the largest of Oxford's parish churches and the centre from which the University of Oxford grew.

It is situated on the north side of the High Street, and is surrounded by university and college buildings.

The 13th-century tower is open to the public for a fee and provides good views across the heart of the historic university city, especially on Radcliffe Camera & Square ( right in front ), Brasenose College ( left ) and All Souls College ( right ).

Brasenose College was founded in 1509, with the College library and current chapel added in the mid-seventeenth century.

All Souls College was founded by Henry VI of England and Henry Chichele ( fellow of New College and Archbishop of Canterbury), in 1438.

From my trip to the UK: Visited Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Oxfordshire.
