Evening splendor

I had been watching these lenticular clouds hanging on the east side of the Cascades all afternoon. As I anticipated they would be there at sunset, I called a few fellow photographers to go out and shot with me, both were "to busy"...

I was headed or Bethel Ridge west of Yakima but as I drove I realized I would be to far west so I turned off on the 1302 road to Jump off Joe lookout.

When I got to the top of the ridge the clouds were lighting up, so I stopped there. I got out of the truck and was met by 20-30mph wind.

Every minute that went by presented a completely different look to this scene, see privies image, I found myself running around franticlly trying different foreground elements and vantage points.

Just before the clouds went dark they gave me this one last spectaculor show of color and then it was over.

the image is a made of 9 vertical images stitched in Lightroom (could have been done in5- 6) and processed in both Lightroom and Photoshop.

Lesson learned...F/8 and be there still is true! (or f/6.3...)
