CHARLES VAN DAMME Ferry Nameboard at the Gates Co-Op

Many nameboards were made over the years in the life of the Charles Van Damme Ferryboat. One is in the S.F. Maritime Library. One found under a dilapidated staircase, was repaired and hangs in Mama's Cafe in Mill Valley next to a namesake booth! This one, worn from decades of exposure to weather, is positioned under the Day of the Dead mural facing the Gates Co-Op garden. A few feet away are the Paddlewheel and steamstack remains.
