The Wreck of the Ten Sails, Gun Bay, Grand Cayman

Monument to the Wreck of the Ten Sails erected on the 27th of Feb. 1994 on the visit of her Majesty the Queen.

Near this spot on on the 08th Feb. 1794 the local people saved the lives of the sailors when their ten ships foundered on the reef in a storm. One of the passengers was a royal family member and the island was thanked by not paying tax to Britain.
