Some weeks ago I presented a graph showing the relation between salaries paid by football clubs and their average ranking at the end of the competition.
Because I only used the main competition, some people said that the graph didn’t give a fair representation of the actual accomplishments of the clubs.
So I made a better one. This time using the game points scored (3 for winning and 1 for equal score) in the national competitie, the so called “Beker” and in the European competitions.
This is a much better fit. Two things beg for attention. First, Feyenoord is a bad performer. Using half the money, Heereveen has almost the same results. Second, it takes loads of extra money just to get the few extra points to make you a winner.
