1887_englerts_stmaryspark.jpg

Loretto, Regina and Ethel Englert in St. Mary's Park, the Bronx. In the back row, Tom Walls, Andrew Englert (uncle to the girls) and Pat O'Brien. I recall Grace Apgar (daughter of Ethel) telling me that Andrew died young from exposure to cold in an ice house in the summer. His brother Christian, buried in an unmarked grave next to this one of his parents and sister also died young. Andrew was 35 and died in 1901, and Christian P. died in 1891 at 33. All are in Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx. Andrew is buried, also in an unmarked grave, with Annie C. Englert, who died in 1935 at age 67.
