Right next door to the building we rented an apartment in was an age old smithy with a friendly but somewhat shy old blacksmith who had to be convinced before he let me photograph him and his shop.
The place was old and I mean OLD... All his forefathers, as far as he knew had worked the place before him but he himself was the last of the line. Most of the old equipment was still around but broken and under layers of dust as you can see here and in the pictures I will be uploading shortly.
In Holland it's absolutely impossible to find workshops like these anymore. I remember them from my youth but in the 1970's they were virtually all gone already. Spain is obviously now going the same way but it was nice seeing this remnant of old, almost medieval artisanship!
