Labyrinth Garden Spring Scenes 03 - The WHOLE Garden

The neighborhood Labyrinth Garden was established in 1998. It sits in Rochester New York's Swillburg Neighborhood. In the City's early days the area was noted for its Hog Farms.

Rochester's Corn Hill neighborhood was once cornfields sweeping up the hills from the Genesee River. The corn from which the area gets it name was to feed the Swillburg area hogs.

Now both areas are fully residential neighborhoods.

The Labyrinth Garden is located @ Henrietta/Pappert. A slate and brick path meanders through a perennial garden filled with dozens of colors. Daffodils burst through the snow in the spring; peonies and irises fill the paths with color; roses and vines climb trellises in the summer; variegated grasses tower in the fall and keep their shape through the winter. Once you’ve made your way through the path, there are chairs to admire the view. The garden is maintained by Swillburg Neighborhood Association volunteers and friends of the neighborhood. swillburg.com/gardenspark/labyrinth-garden/
