Lovejoy Elementary Celebrates Neurodiversity Week

Lovejoy Elementary students celebrated Neurodiversity Week this past week with dress up days, posters about neurodiverse icons in the hallways, and several new books for their school library with topics about and characters with different abilities and neurodiversity. In honor of Autism Awareness Month, the school wants to recognize and celebrate these differences in the students and staff at our school. They celebrated neurodiversity by noticing that all of our brains work differently and are good at different things. To finish the week off, student council members and student ambassadors from 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades read new library books about neurodiversity to the lower grade levels.
