Church

This is a Big Catholic Church in Mannheim and my pictures DO NOT do it justice.

The first ground stone was layed in 1733 but didn't start building till 1738. It use to belong to the Mannheim castle and was the royal family's church. The building stoped in 1742 because the owner passed away and it didn't resume untill 1744. The building was finshed in 1748 then they started on the inside of the churh. The church was first used in 1756. The designer of the church was Alessandro Galli da Bibiena he was an Italian. The big alter was designed by Peter Anton von Verschaffelt. The ceiling was designed by Egid Quirin Asam. In 1906 the church was renovated. In WWII the church sufferd alot of damage from both Britisch/Amercan airforce this is to include the inside of the church. After the war the restored it to the orignal condition The persons in charge of this was Anton Ohnmacht and Hans Rolli. In 1986 till 2004 they did yet more restoring to the inside of the church. The alter is and was made from Marble it was restored in 1997. Now I know some lame person is going to ask me how I know this or that I didn't get something right on this I spent 3 days doing nothing but reading up on this so if I'm wrong the books are wrong and heres a good place to start looking for yourself.. de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesuitenkirche_(Mannheim). In other words I don't want to hear it if somethings not right call the people that put it in the books because thats all I have to go on I as well as youself were not there...
