Windscreen musings
So, since my super-small LEDs from China apparently went missing in shipping...
LEGO X-wing windscreen, while it's the best one we have so far, is not perfect - that's a given. It's too wide in the front part, it has studs on top (what for?!) and the printing is not particularly faithful to the original (clear margins around cockpit frame, really?!) Plus, it's trans clear and as we could see in Yavin hanger scene, it should be trans black (if not trans ultra-black ;) )..
What you see here is just a sketch. The color is nothing like sand blue used in other details of my model (but I still like it). You can see brush marks upon closer inspection. And... yes, I cut the studs and filled the holes with glue. I know it's all a big no-no for us, AFOLs, but still....
What do you think? Should I buy more dirt-cheap trans black windscreens and some more sand-bluish paint when I'm ready to expand my X-wing fleet?
P.S. Painted by my son, don't shoot at me :D.
