Corpse Plant
I waited in line for almost three hours to get a photo of this plant. It bloomed early yesterday morning. I went in the evening and it had already started to close. It only stays open for a day, and only blooms about every 7 - 10 years. It smells like rotting flesh...no, I did not smell it. This corpse plant is named "The Beast", The gardens were supposed to be closed at 9pm, but everyone that was in line at 8 were allowed to view it, I got there at 7:30 and finally got to see it at 10:45. There were probably at least 150 people behind me. It was a long night for the volunteers. It was in front of a window that is normally sunlit...my shot had a dark sky behind it.
Thanks for the views, comments and favs :)
