nudibranch4Jun2-18

My usual ride to the islands didn't run, so I jumped aboard Conception for a single day trip to remote San Miguel Island. I only get up to the northernmost Channel Island once a year or so because the weather usually scraps the trip. I had hoped that with the colder waters, I might find a Hilton's nudibranch to shoot on the black-slate stage. I wasn't disappointed as they were everywhere! Many of them were 10-12cm long and too long to shoot with the 100mm macro. I actually had to look for small ones to make the shots!
