Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass with Bishop Walkowiak, Cathedral of Saint Andrew, Grand Rapids
On Dec. 12, 2016 at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, Grand Rapids, Bishop Walkowiak celebrated Mass to mark the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Our Lady of Guadalupe celebrates the apparition of Mary to St. Juan Diego, an indigenous man from Mexico in 1531. The miracle that happened when Our Lady of Guadalupe and the image that imprinted on Juan Diego’s cloak is only the beginning. She is the star of the new evangelization because in only seven years there were over nine million people converted to Catholicism due to her apparition. (Photos by Ben Mulderink)
