Το Γαλαξ(ε)ίδι είναι μία πολύ γραφική παραθαλάσσια κωμόπολη του νομού Φωκίδας και γι αυτό, πόλος έλξης πολλών τουριστών κατά τους θερινούς,κυρίως,μήνες. Παρουσιάζει ιδιαίτερο αρχιτεκτονικό ενδιαφέρον αφού το μεγαλύτερο μέρος του οικισμού αποτελείται από πλινθόκτιστα αρχοντικά καπετανόσπιτα με σαφείς Ευρωπαϊκές επιδράσεις, Είναι ένα δείγμα της μεγάλης και πλούσιας ναυτικής παράδοσης του τόπου τόσο στον οικονομικό όσο και στον πολεμικό τομέα αφού η συμμετοχή του Γαλαξ(ε)ιδιού στον απελευθερωτικό αγώνα των Ελλήνων του 1821 ήταν παραπάνω από σημαντική.
Galaxidi is a very picturesque seaside town in the prefecture of Fokida and therefore attracts many tourists during the summer months. It shows a particular architectural interest as most of the settlement consists of brick captain mansions with clear European influences. It is an example of the great and rich nautical tradition of the place in both the economic and the war sectors since Galaxidi's participation in the Greek liberation struggle of the of 1821 was more than significant.
